BAILE, otherwise known as Reed Kackley of Brooklyn’s downtempo trio Silent Rider, has slowly but surely made his way into our ears since last year when he started doing remixes as his new solo project.
But BAILE isn’t just for the remix nerds; his original music feels like new-age ambient club tunes mixed with backbeats from a mid-90’s Jock Jams compilation cd.
It’s a 21st century product with a morphing electro-melody that keeps it interesting without scaring the neighbors.
In 2014, BAILE put out his first EP, From The Depths: a sample-size tasting of 4-songs, released through label Color Station.
Since then, he has been featured on various edm-focused websites, contributing hand-selected mixes and personal remixes of bands such as Daughter, label-mate White Royal, and his own Silent Rider.
Summer 2015 holds much promise for BAILE, beginning with his first ever live performance for Color Station’s inaugural showcase at Palisades (BK) on Saturday, June 20, alongside Shines (making their NY debut) and Aten Rays.
According to the official Palisades’ facebook event, some “special guests” will be accompanying BAILE live on June 20, and “Sexy Vibes All Night Long” are promised.
Our fingers are crossed that one of these special guests will be Felicia Douglass of Ava Luna, who features on BAILE’s debut track “Leaves” from his forthcoming EP, Matter, to be released through Color Station on July 21, 2015.
Check out BAILE featuring Felicia Douglass in “Leaves,” and keep your eyes peeled for new releases this summer:
