It was a challenging experiment to take the sonic expanse of Glint, which we’ve been recording in warehouses and big open spaces over the past year, and put it on display each week in a small venue in the lower east side. The Piano’s residency felt like an appropriate step for Anders Fleming and I, as we’ve been recently searching for like-minded individuals to share the stage with.
After a tireless search for what we thought we needed live, a moment of happenstance led guitarist Chris Kyle (Cosmicide, Lip Talk) to find us. The first moment he came to our studio to play we knew we all belonged in the same room. We cancelled all other auditions as Chris suggested a long time friend and collaborator, bassist Ian Hersey (Rubblebucket). When he came the following day, we knew Glint had arrived. The serendipitous encounter pushed Glint to a new frontier live and these weekly shows have been our opportunity to share it in an intimate environment before bigger spaces.
