Hunter & The Bear “Burn It Up” (session)

by Play Too Much

The London via Scottland based four piece band, Hunter & The Bear, met us in Queens, New York for our Astoria Soundworks session shoot. We were lucky enough to be a pitstop along the way for the band’s first ever US tour. Their music is clearly steeped in traditional rock and roll, being classified as a “British Americana Country Rock Band”  but have managed to create a unique contemporary sound.  The down to Earth gang of musicians were buzzing with energy after playing their first gig in New York, a show at Rockwood Music Hall the previous night.

Will (Lead Vocals & Rhythm Guitar), Jimmy (Lead Guitar, Mandolin & Vocals), Gareth (Drums & Vocals), and Chris (Bass & Vocals) stuck around after the shoot to talk about the only song they’re willing to cover, their favorite venues in London and which Atlanta duo they convinced us we gotta check out. So be sure to keep an eye out for their upcoming podcast episode!
