Talk about new beginnings! Swervedriver, a UK rock band will be coming out with their first full length album since 1998. I don’t know if time freaks any of you out like it does to me, but, that’s a lot fucking time to not release an album for a band that had previously released four studio albums between 1989 and 1998.
Not only will the band be releasing an album, because well, why stop there? They’ll also be embarking on a North American tour which will include their first ever South by Southwest performance. I hate cliché’s but when in Rome, go big or go home. Thank you, I’ll be here all week.
South by Southwest is a feat for so many to accomplish that even the more experienced bands shouldn’t take an opportunity like this lightly. The fans that attend this expo of talent and creativity are devours of art. They’re not just showing up because it’s a cool place to be. You have to be invested. And the performers have to have a following.
Throughout the years Swervedriver has cultivated this following regardless of the instability of members.
One thing has been true for this band, the dedication of it’s core members, Adam Franklin and Jimmy Hartridge are what kept this force together. Because of their dedication to the group Swervedriver is able to keep trekking on their musical journey
