For this week’s edition of Time Capsule Tuesday we’re taking it all the way back to the year Two Thousand and Ten. Woooooo! In all seriousness though, those last five years went by quick. Back in 2010 I was but a young chap diminishing my brain cell count with copious amounts of recreational substances, but I somehow managed to always be on the prowl for new music.
Thus bringing us to the focal point of today’s musical discovery, The Heavy Pets by, The Heavy Pets. I decided to pull this one out of the capsule because it’s what I’ve personally been using to get over this never ending Nor’Easter.
The Heavy Pets upbeat and diverse grooves serve as a sneak peak to a soon arriving summer. Their riffs serve as an encouraging musical memo to stay strong in these sub zero temps. A reminder to endure the snow and ice because the warm sun, light breezes, and bright long days are on the way.
FYI: The Heavy Pets are currently touring the Northeast, I’ve had the pleasure of seeing them live and they put on a great show with no shortage of music that will make you move. They’re playing at The Brooklyn Bowl THIS WEEK! Check them out!
