So this is The Code…
Rarely do I come across an album that I can both rip to on a bike through the city and soothe me to sleep. The serenely dramatic produced tunes hit me so hard. His spacey, abstract vocal fluctuation is used almost like an instrument of its own, with words that are hard to define.
Although UK based, I recently reached out to The Code’s management to try to book’em a warehouse gig. Management mentioned that once The Code hits the US, his shows and character in general will remain anonymous. How you ask? The visual lighting effects on-stage will be somewhat of a silhouette throughout, leaving you with only a mystery man and his out of this world beats. I dig dig DIG this concept.
Also scope his Miguel rework. I’ve never heard the original but I don’t wanna know anything BUT this,
Best track on the album, hands-down is ‘Touch’
This tune is a split track which opens up with a gem, dissipates, then comes back with a 4×4 back and forth beat with matching bouncing vocals. Damnnn I cannot get enough of this. But don’t take my word for it. Give it a listen!
