Live From NAMM: Skin & Bones performs “Pointing and Laughing”

April 23, 2017

Skin & Bones:

The Venice Beach duo Skin & Bones returns to Play Too Much for a live session taping from NAMM in Anaheim California. Their song “Pointing & Laughing” is the heartbreaking tale from the perspective of an abusive binge drinker. Despite a bleak subject matter, the song’s vivid lyrics and powerful delivery inspires you to hit “repeat”.
“Spinnin’ round on the kitchen floor. Drown out my thoughts with the radio. Sing along with the song, laughing to my self til’ the early morning saying ‘ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha'”. Although the topic of alcoholism may not be universally relatable, battling the inner-judge seems to be the real accessible theme in “Pointing and Laughing”. The band’s 2016 EP, Ghost In This Town, bares a similar motif throughout as well. The songs pair strong, imaginable stories over wonderful folk-Americana instrumentals that create an original movie-esque arch over 5 finely-composed tracks.
