aliensdontringdoorbells are more than just a unique name — they’re a melodic, timeless combination of pop, rock, jazz, prog and swing, and their debut album, ARRIVAL, has arrived! They’re reinventing mainstream, and creating songs that will get you up off your couch to sing and dance. ARRIVAL is a sincere and emotional journey through the highs and lows life, with lyrics that are both complex yet philosophical, and a sound that is diverse, edgy, and original. With established influences like OneRepublic, Maroon 5 and Weezer, and notable nods to the styles of the late 80s and early 90s, the album is sure to deliver.
Paranoid and gritty, the album begins with the exciting “Consummation.” Rock driven and riddled with electric guitar, it’s the kind of track you’ll want to turn the volume up for. Adam King, lead vocalist, suggests that, “The lyrics just sort of popped into my head” whilst vocalist Dorian Foyil maintains that “the song is a real collaborative band effort with a saturated edge crucially enhanced by Christian’s over-driven Wurlitzer sound.”
The album follows with “Slipping Away,” that has a fun guitar line and a driven melody. They sing, “How do you keep your girl from slipping away?,” giving the track an end-of-summer breakup feel. “It’s Your Night” takes a turn and finds the band singing over calming piano with layers of synth, adding a romantic ambiance. With vivid lyrics and a passion that stands out, this is one of the album’s star tracks, and has been making its way up the Top 40 radio charts.
“Daddy Blues” opts for an underground, late-night blues vibe. Always innovative, the track features a female rap solo and dynamic electric guitar. The compilation is completed by their break out single, “Story,” which quickly gained 15,000 streams on Spotify in one month, as well as radio airplay and press around the world. An uplifting and hopeful fairy tale come to life, the track is vocally driven with classic rock elements underneath.
