movements no good to giveSoCal band Movements has recently shared their newest album, No Good Left To Give. This sophomore album takes the band in a new direction – showcasing their growth and evolvement as artists on their musical journey.

The contemplative “In My Blood” sets the mood for the album, with a slow yet guitar driven melody. The melancholy “Skin To Skin” stands out amongst the rest, a live song about a moment of happiness.  With more joyful lyrics, the sing, “Instead of chasing doves / We could fake some love / Make pretend for a while.”

The previously released, “Don’t Give Up Your Ghost bursts through with intense journey of mental health and brings up the discussion of suicide. Speaking on the leading single, vocalist Patrick Miranda explained, “I don’t consider myself a guiding light for anybody. My intention was to write music that I felt honestly about. But if there’s anything I’ve learned from being in this band, for whatever reason, our music has a really profound ability to help people with their struggles and show them that they’re not alone.”

“12 Weeks,” intense and sad, the track is driven by the emotional guitar and guided by their powerful vocals. “Moonlight Lines” is reminiscent of bands like Twenty One Pilots with the kind of sing-speak and yearning that makes us nostalgic for better days. Just days before Movements’ monumental record release, they dropped the final single from the record, Tunnel Vision. Possessing one of the most intense themes on the record, frontman Patrick Miranda shares, “”‘Tunnel Vision’ is one of the darkest tracks I’ve ever written. It’s about grappling with the reality of suicide, and finding yourself fantasizing about your own funeral.”

“Love Took The Last Of It” closes the album with a perfect culmination of the songs before and the band’s journey as artists so far. Familiar yet hopeful, the track wraps it all up with an atmospheric finish.

Since forming back in 2015, Movements, has been rising in the scene – after their EP Outgrown Things in 2016, they went on to begin establishing their sound with their 2017 full-length debut, Feel Something, which garnered 40 million total streams by 2020.  The band has earned acclaim from Brooklyn Vegan, AXS, Rock Sound, Culture Collide, and more.

Between performing in live shows worldwide, Movements joined forces with Alzheimer’s Association for the “Deadly Dull” video, and made a cover of “Losing My Religion” by R.E.M. for the Songs that Saved My Life compilation.

2019 found the band in the studio with longtime producer and frequent collaborator Will Yip [Title Fight, Turnover], where they began working on and recording No Good Left To Give. They shared that this was the most time they ever had in the studio working on a project, which has proved fruitful with the final product.
