All Time Low Ease Fans’ Self Quarantine Routines With New Music

“Melancholy Kaleidoscope” is the fourth track off their forthcoming album Wake Up Sunshine out 4/3/20

Since the start of this year the boys of All Time Low have been makings fans freak with all the amazing news and music they’ve been releasing as of late. To catch you all up to speed: All Time Low had been relatively quiet in 2019 with the exception of their 10 year anniversary shows honoring their album Nothing Personal and recording a tribute to the album – that is until January hit and they released 3 ominous videos leaving fans racking their brains trying to decipher them. By mid-January fans had all their questions [and dreams] answered – the guys of All Time Low had taken a step back to grow as individuals and heal but came back as so much more than Young Renegades, they became our favorite Disasters.

Since January, All Time Low have play 3 very intimate shows for fans and released 3 new tracks [accompanied by 3 music videos] off their forthcoming 7 full length album, Wake Up, Sunshine – due out April 3, 2020. Today, All Time Low unveiled their fourth track off Wake Up, Sunshine – “Melancholy Kaleidoscope“.

Yesterday All Time Low stated in a Facebook post that they were “just gonna keep releasing music, because that’s what the world needs right now” – and man were they right. To pump up fans for the release of their latest track, frontman, Alex Gaskarth, took to Instagram to go live a mere 30 minutes before the song’s release to chat with fans. While Gaskarth is held up at home in his home town of Maryland, he took this time to really connect with fans like they used to when new music was released – noting that the current times have definitely been making getting close to fans difficult. Alex mentioned that usually they would be doing signings and intimate acoustic shows for fans but unfortunately due to COVID-19 that just wasn’t possible at the moment – but luckily the internet can bring us all closer together from the covert of our own quarantines.

While, Alex and fans anxiously waited for the new song to drop, he took this time to talk about wellness, answer fan questions and even bring on one lucky fan to join him in his live stream. Fans were quick to ask when the next song [after “Melancholy Kaleidoscope“] would be released, to which Alex replied, “Um I don’t know, Friday? We were thinking Friday – how does Friday sound?” – Um, that sounds splendid Alex, simply marvelous.

As the minutes ticked on, fans begged for Alex to play something for them while they all waited – Alex broke out his guitar and played the intro of a fan favorite [a song that fans stress isn’t played live enough] “Vegas” . Without a moment to spare, Alex thought for a moment “This is fun one to do –” before breaking into the first verse and chorus of “Sleeping In“. This then prompted one fan to suggest that they release an acoustic version of the song while we all wait for the record – an idea that was quickly accepted by Gaskarth [so perhaps look out for that in the near future].

With less than 10 minutes until the premiere of the new song, drummer, Rian Dawson, showed his face in the live for a brief moment from his home in Nashville, while bassist, Zack Merrick lurked in the comments. With 2 minutes until the premiere we said goodbye to Rian and hello to an exclusive first listen of “Melancholy Kaleidoscope” from Alex’s living room.

In a time of self quarantines and city wide curfews – “Melancholy Kaleidoscope” is definitely the perfect anthem we need right now – “I wanna hear another fast song, something to tune out all these bad thoughts” – same All Time Low. Same.

Take a listen to “Melancholy Kaleidoscope” – a song that Alex says is “one of my favorite songs on the record guys – best bridge on the record, best bring on the record – well maybe not, but it’s up there!” While Rian notes “it’s some of my favorite drumming on the whole record – woo!” Sing along, play along, open up that pit – just don’t miss this banger.
