All Time Low Go Live For A Cause & Drop Another Track From Their Upcoming Album

Wake Up, Sunshine is available wherever you stream and buy music on April 3, 2020

For the past few weeks it seems as though All Time Low have been leading the forefront of feeling good while in quarantine. From releasing tracks off their upcoming album Wake, Up Sunshine to going live to connect with fans and now helping out a worthy cause.

In the wake of releasing their fifth song, “Trouble Is“, off the album, frontman, Alex Gaskarth, went Live on Facebook [hosted by Billboard] in an effort to raise money for The National Coalition For The Homeless. A note worthy cause that helps those who are without shelter who are now more than ever vulnerable to what’s happening in our world today. It should come as no surprise that All Time Low would be apart of such a noble cause with a history of helping out their communities – from natural disaster relief to those affected by COVID-19, All Time Low bring such a positive vibe in this trying time.

During the live Alex connected with fans – something he noted he missed being able to do while promoting the new record – and played acoustic versions of “Some Kind Of Disaster” and “Sleeping In“. Though, it’s not quite a live with Alex Gaskarth unless he messes up the words of his own songs because he can’t stop trying to read the live chat of fans spewing out questions and general love. But Gaskarth’s charitable efforts were not lost – in the short half hour that Alex got to chat with fans and find out what they had for breakfast and one great thing that had happened to them recently, he was able to raise $1,368  for The National Coalition For The Homeless!

But the fun doesn’t stop there – after all, All Time Low promised us another Live on their Instagram to promote another track off Wake Up, Sunshine, “Trouble Is“. Now it was guitarist, Jack Barakat’s, turn to connect with fans as he promotes the band’s latest release!…or at least, that’s what their managers and team were hoping for.

While it’s comfortable, mid-day hour of 3:30pm for those of us on the East Coast, for Jack on the West Coast it was still the early hours of 12:30pm…and of course this meant it was time to rise and shine, Sunshine. For any fans that know anything about Jack Barakat, he is by far the “rockstar” of the group – and in proper ‘rockstar fashion’ had his blinds open to the phrase “Boy is awake, Boy is awake!“. With Jack fresh out of bed and an outfit picked for the day, surely we were going to start diving deep into “Trouble Is” – what it’s about, how it was created….but this is Jack Barakat and he’s not like the rest of the guys of All Time Low. 20 minutes into the live and we are now joining Jack for a shower – short lived as he dropped the soap and soon realized you really can’t do a live promoting your band’s new song from the shower. As the rest of his bandmates lurked in the comments Alex noted, “This is a different vibe than when I go live…

2 shots, a white claw and just 15 minutes until the debut of the new track, Jack connects Alex Gaskarth onto the live who quickly reminds Jack why he’s even here. “You can’t see this right now obvious cause you’ve been in the live this whole time but our group chat with all our managers and stuff is just panicking that you aren’t gonna plug the song” – “Oh, Shit.” And with that friendly reminder Alex is off and Jack is joined by drummer, Rian Dawson.

Before the song chat – SHOTS! – a shot of vodka for Jack and whiskey for Rian. But in an effort to keep their team happy Rian took a minute to talk about the mechanics of the track – “Hey fans, music nerd fans, the verses are in a different time signature and I’m very interested to know if you guys think its in a 13/4 – that’s what Alex says – or if it’s in a bar of 6 and a bar of 7 or a bar of 7 and a bar of 6…so that’s something to chat about.

As Jack and Rian’s witty banter continues [and not about the song], fans and bandmates remind the two what this live was supposed to be for – the song. Bassist, Zack Merrick, took a more mellow approach with “should play the song” – Alex lets just a bit of panic shine through, “PLAY THE SONG…Stop talking about toothbrushes and debut our song!” With only 5 minutes until the song premieres on all listening platforms, Jack quickly asks Rian how he plays the song before his departure.

Finally, “Trouble Is” hits our air waves and it’s an instant bop – “I can hear the rock music!” proclaims Alex, “Fuck this is a good song” declared Rian, “🤘” chimed Zack – and all was right in the world of All Time Low.

Check out “Trouble Is” – plus their previously released tracks from Wake Up, Sunshine – while the record comes out in a week, somehow I doubt this will be the last single we hear until then.
