East coast punk rock outfit American Thrills, shares their latest video for “Discount Casket.” The band recently released their EP Old Things, which includes previously released tracks “Wandering” and “Stranger.” The music video sheds light on who this band is, and how they roll, as they bring us along for a little local performance.
“Discount Basket” comes as a catchy offering off the Old Things EP. The band focuses on a captivating lyrical hook that’ll will surely be stuck in your head. It’s an ode to 2000’s style guitar melodies, tinged with a radio punk-pop aspect. American Thrills’ vocalist throws in his signature gritty vocals that set this band apart from other punk rock groups. The band speaks about “Discount Casket”: “Coming into adulthood can be full of confusion and unreasonable expectations. ‘Discount Casket’ is about losing a friend to suicide in this period of life. On one hand you can relate to their pain and confusion, but on the other, you wish they didn’t see their troubles as insurmountable obstacles.”
The video is a light hearted and playful performance from the band at a local establishment. They share a piece of their roots by filming in East Hampshire’s Beertracks Brewery. American Thrills is a punk rock band hailing from Milford, Connecticut. Members of The Tired and True [Eulogy Records] and Shut up and Deal came together during the pandemic to write their debut self-titled EP. Nick Bellmore [Make Do And Mend, Hatebreed] engineered the endeavor, and John Naclerio [Brand New, My Chemical Romance] mixed and mastered it to completion.
