Venezuelan pop-star Carmen DeLeon unveils her latest single, “Pasado.” Urban-pop duo from Colombia, Cali y El Dandee, joins her on the ride for this track which is released by Capitol Music Group and Universal Music Latin Entertainment. Together, the three deliver a danceable beat along with a fashionable music video to bring the Miami heat to you.

“Pasado” is a classic latin-beat pop song, full of verve and passion heard in DeLeon’s vocals. The title in English means “past,” and DeLeon reminisces memories of her ex-boyfriend. The track may carry that gloomy message, but Carmen DeLeon’s voice is powerful and uplifting. Additionally, the beat has a touch of electronic elements swelling under the vocals, keeping it fresh. She sings with clear diction and force, even those who don’t speak Spanish will feel her emotions. DeLeon is joined by Cali y El Dandee — comprised of brothers Alejandro Rengifo and Mauricio Rengifo — who add a soulful verse to give a male perspective to the track.

The music video takes place in Miami, and was filmed by Bello. Carmen and Cali y El Dandee are the focus of the visual, following the story line of the three going on a road trip together in a vintage tangerine sports car. Overall, the video has a nostalgic vibe due to the setting. DeLeon strikes as the center of attention, flaunting a couple very fashionable outfits that are on trend for this year. At a motel, memory of her ex-boyfriend haunts Carmen, but she carries on to the swinging beat of the song.

Born in Venezuela and now residing in Miami, Carmen DeLeon is making waves with her music. She has amassed over four million streams since her debut single “Volverás,” which was released less than a year ago. Now “Pasado” follows her 2021 single “Cafécito,” a bittersweet memoir track for her grandfathers. For those who like Camila Cabelo, Selena Gomez and vocal qualities of Madison Beer, lend an ear to this young songstress and dive into Latin-pop bliss. DeLeon has even collaborated with artists like FEID, Ne-Yo and DJ/producer L.L.A.M.A. Her interpretation of “He Hit Me (And It Felt Like A Kiss)”  — penned by Gerry Goffin and Carole King — is on the soundtrack for it’s feature on the film, Promising Young Woman. Carmen DeLeon makes strides at such a quick pace, she brings her Latin roots to the foreground of pop music making her a force to be reckoned with.
