Introducing, D3dset – your new favorite artist is the unexpected creative alter ego of The Browning frontman, producer, and Twitch streamer, Jonny McBee. The three track EP, Doomsday, is the first of four drops. The three track EP sets the scene for his artistry.
Starting with the title track “Doomsday”, D3dset delivers a heavy trap beat, with elements of dark synth that accentuate his raspy vocals as he sings, “Ya there’s gotta be a better way / Gotta be a better path that we have to take / Hope to god I see another day / aye 12:01 and today is f*ckin’ doomsday.”
Next up, “NO GLORY” talks about the conflict that fame brings to one’s mind and ego. The track cuts deep with hard-hitting lyrics, “I just wanna feel alive and make a difference / Wanna have a home life and hold onto friends / Wanna show the world you don’t have to live in sin / Wanna have a f’kin dime to give to my kids / I got 2 minds in my brain / conflicts with everything its driving me insane / Do I wait around for the fame or do I cash out and watch it fade away.”
To close the EP, “BRAIN D3D 4EVER” goes even darker and deeper. A song about distrust of the world, he shares his fears of the government and the media. Over the trap beat, he recites, “Brainwashed ye by your government / Brainwashed ye by your reverend / Brainwashed ye by the media / Brainwashed ye braindead forever ye / Scrolling, news feed / All posts , ad lease / All trash, don’t need / Cant control what your eye sees / And you know who sees the proceeds? “
D3dset’s music is a distinct blend of beats, raps, grooves, and synthwave sounds. His sound developed from his roots in deathcore, metalcore, industrial and EDM from The Browning, an American metalcore band from Kansas City, Missouri.
Doomsday [out via Spinefarm Records] is just the first drop from D3dset and can be listened to anyway you stream music. D3dset has a second drop planned for sometime this October so stay tuned!
