Hip hop mogul, Nelly, is gearing up to perform his iconic debut album, Country Grammar, in its entirety! Last month marked the 20 year anniversary for this certified diamond album – so to celebrate, Nelly is doing something he’s never tackled before. Tomorrow, July 25, Nelly will take to YouTube to perform Country Grammar from start to finish starting at 6pm PT / 9pm ET / 2am + 1 day BT.

The year is 2000 – we’ve survived Y2K, boy bands rule the world and Millennials have yet to be blamed for ruining society. As bubblegum pop and R&B blast through your radio on the daily, you keep the number for your local station for song requests is on speed dial, when suddenly you hear something completely out of left field – “HOT SH*T”. Texas native, Nelly burst onto the scene with a fire so hot, he made steam look cool. As “Country Grammar (Hot Shit)”  took over the airwaves, conservative parents everywhere clutched their pearls as their adolescent children soon became Nelly’s biggest fans.

Country Grammar dominated airwaves with multiple hit singles that include, “E.I”, “Batter Up” and of course the legendary, “Ride With Me” – which will go down in history of having one of the best radio-safe edits ever created. Country Grammar debuted at #3 on the US Billboard 200 chart before taking over the charts at #1 for five consecutive weeks and the US Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart for six consecutive weeks – Country Grammar has gone on to become a musical staple amongst multiple generations. Nelly spoke on going live for this 20-year celebration saying, “Anytime you get a chance to celebrate 20 years, you want to do something that you have never done before — so we are going to rock the Country Grammar album top to bottom.”  Nelly has partnered up with MelodyVR for this monumental event as part of their ongoing Live From LA Series. The live stream will be free to watch via YouTube and will be available for all to watch from July 25 – July 31 on Nelly’s YouTube channel.

Today, Nelly released the digital 20th-anniversary deluxe edition of this iconic debut album, featuring two bonus tracks as well as instrumental versions of, “Ride With Me”  and “Country Grammar (Hot Shit)”. This album not only became the starting point that would kick off the career of one of the most famed rappers in music history, but it’s also completely shattered expectations with it becoming the ninth hip hop album ever to be certified diamond. Nelly broke out of the rap game and infiltrated the mainstream scene to become one of the most influential names in music. Over the last 20 years, he has helped to blur the lines between genres and has continued to push the bounds within the confines of an industry.
