Two upcoming incredible acts, David Shaw and Gov’t Mule, in New York City, are closing out 2021 with a bang. On December 17th, singer, songwriter, and frontman of The Revivalists, David Shaw, will be performing at the Bowery Ballroom, wrapping his headlining tour in support of his debut self-titled album. Later in the month, on December 30th and 31st, road warriors Gov’t Mule, will be at the Beacon Theatre for the band’s annual New Year’s Run, which follows the recent release of their chart-topping blues record, Heavy Load Blues.
Earlier this year David Shaw released his debut self-titled solo album via his own imprint Yokoko Records in partnership with C3 Records. Produced by Jack Splash [4-time GRAMMY® Award-winning producer of Kendrick Lamar, Alicia Keys, Solange, Valerie June, St Paul, and The Broken Bones], Shaw’s album has garnered nearly three million streams and showcases his true self. Riling up his raw rock ‘n’ roll impulses as he opens up like never before as a lyricist, poet, and storyteller through singles including “Got Me Feeling Good,” “Heavy Soul,” “Shivers,” “Shaken” and “Promised Land.” To kick off the holiday season, Shaw recently released a tender cover of the holiday classic “Blue Christmas,” most famously performed by Elvis Presley.
Gov’t Mule, led by GRAMMY® Award-winning vocalist, songwriter, and guitar legend Warren Haynes, released their first-ever blues album Heavy Load Blues on November 12 via Fantasy Records. Heavy Load Blues was recorded live in the studio at The Power Station New England on analog tape, utilizing vintage guitars, amps, and other equipment to capture an authentic sound. The new album officially debuted at #1 on the Billboard Blues Albums chart and has amassed over 1.5 million global streams. Heavy Load Blues has received critical praise and acclaim from the likes of Consequence, Guitar World, Ultimate Classic Rock, PopMatters, and more. A deluxe edition featuring additional studio and live tracks is also available.
