With the pandemic effectively shutting down all in-person shows until 2021 – bands are [understandably] beginning to get restless. Not only that, but the majority of your favorite acts’ livelihood depends heavily on touring. However, with venues either being unable to open or having such a low capacity, tours will have to wait for the safety of all involved. But thanks to technology your favorite bands are finding a new way to connect to their fans and bring them nights to remember!
Emo legends, Hawthorne Heights are being added to the list of bands who are pulling out all the stops to perform for their fans. Next Wednesday these Ohio Lovers are getting together to put on a full-band concert – and getting a ticket couldn’t be easier, any purchases valued at $10 or more made in their online merch store from July 1 – July 19 will score you an exclusive invite to a private live stream. Hawthorne Heights‘ main reason for doing this? To say thank you of course, to all the fans who – despite the pandemic and hard time – still show up to support their favorite bands. Hawthorne Heights took to Facebook to say, “We just wanted to say THANK YOU to all of our fans that frequent our web-store and help keep the Hawthorne ship afloat during these tough times while we have been unable to tour.”
Don’t worry about having to buy recycled gear though, HH have been busy in launching new merch perfect for summer – crop tops, t-shirts, shorts, masks, even baby merch for that next generation of emo kids! After all, everyone kind of predicted a rise in pregnancies and divorces after quarantine – in the words of the iconic Leslie Jordan, “What are y’all doing? Screwing?”
Hawthorne Heights are the pinnacle of the Emo Movement, and as any grown-up emo kid knows, you’re always an emo kid at heart – and having an outlet to express that [now adult] angst is vital. While we always get excited when a band announces a new live stream event, there’s something extraordinary when it’s a band that help mold you not only as an individual and but also musically. While Hawthorne Heights have been consistently going live on their socials to talk about their discography and just general check-ins – this will be the first time the band will be all together to perform a full concert. There’s still no word on what songs will be featured during this Live, but as any HH fans know there will be a heavy mix of classics with the new – of course, we have a setlist wishlist of our own.
