This Friday, July 17, post-hardcore act, Dance Gavin Dance, is going live for an album release party in honor of the physical release of their chart-topping ninth album, Afterburner. The event comes as a way to celebrate not only the album but the love for their fans.

Earlier this year Dance Gavin Dance was faced with a tough decision when it came to Afterburner due to the pandemic – do they push back their April release date [both physical and digital] to allow for the COVID-19 induced manufacturing shut-down and release the album in all forms all at once, do they give fans the album they’ve been patiently waiting for digitally on the original release date? With DGD choosing fans over profits, they ultimately decided that fans deserved something amazing during these difficult times in lockdown. Directed by Rob Shaw, this animated video features a no-nonsense, business bully who takes a journey of self-discovery. Viewers are taken on a wonderfully psychedelic adventure – watching as a cold-hearted bull grow into a free thinker who puts self-worth and people above profits. “Heal my soul ’cause I’m one in a million” continuously echo’s throughout the song as the suited-up bull becomes more self-aware before finally having rainbows bursting from within him creating a ripple effect on the world around him. “Dictate faith, don’t tolerate/You gotta concentrate, conglomerate/Hallelujah” takes over the background as the colors reach up towards the heavens and their animated God is installing the latest “earth balance upgrade” – creating a brighter world for all who inhabit it.
