Faded Paper Figures Drop Nostalgic New Single “Bones”

Poppy-synth tribute to skateboard culture

Faded Paper Figures Bones

Indie-pop three-piece Faded Paper Figures return with their new song “Bones,” ahead of their fifth album, Kairos. The song experiments with stunning synths and samples to inflict feelings of nostalgia from listeners.

Together since 2007, R. John Williams (guitar, vocals), Heather Alden (vocals), and Kael Alden (keys, guitar, drums, production), have released four prior brilliant LPs that seamlessly combine electronic and pop. In “Bones” specifically, the trio reflects on the teenage culture of skateboarding.

“We started writing [“Bones”] with just the image of a drained pool — something sad and trashy — made strange and wonderful by skateboarding… a dead space suddenly coming alive! They take things specifically made to ensure safety — a hand railing or a concrete barrier — and then turn them into objects of risk and danger. Add to that the aerial grace and incredible coolness of skating, and you’ve created something like a realm of the gods for teenage frustration,” says Williams.

We can’t wait to hear Faded Paper Figures upcoming album Kairos!
