Australian pop-rock band 5 Seconds of Summer has once again teamed up with director Hannah Lux Davis (5SOS “No Shame”) creating a nostalgic music video for their latest release “Old Me.” The video was shot in Sydney, Australia during the National Bush Fire Relief benefit concert Fire Fight Australia.
The band takes an introspective look at their career in this video, using child actors to play the members of the band from ages 15 to 17. The video footage highlights their first ever performance at the Annandale Hotel in Sydney in 2011, where there was scant audience of just twelve.
The closing scene will resonate with die-hard fans as the band takes the stage in the stadium at the Fire Fight Australia concert, and screams and cheers from the crowd are the only source of sound. Key moments of the band were portrayed in scenes on a moving train, such as a One Direction look-alike group sitting on the bench across from where 5SOS are seated, (One Direction accounts for 5SOS’ break-through). A woman in a red dress is seen holding an AMA award, depicting the moment in 2014 when the band won Artist of the Year at the AMA’s. Fans will be quick to pick out these intricate details at first glance.
