Reggae and rock band Rebelution released the pre-order and new single from their upcoming album Dub Collection – due out July 17. “Attention Span dub” is the reimagined single off their debut album Courage To Grow. This 15 track dub collection record features the best of the best of fan favorites – completely reinvented with a new take on a discography that’s given Rebelution their name within the scene.
“We thought about putting out a dub version of our last album, and then realized this would be a better idea, there’s so many of our old songs that deserve a dub version. We know our fans love the early Rebelution material, so this seemed appropriate,” said Rachmany. Rachmany continues, “He was the perfect candidate to produce the album, because he understands both the Rebelution sound and dub music, We’re so excited for people to hear it, because it’s a celebration of six albums and the Rebelution community being behind us for over 15 years.”
The band is no stranger to notoriety – Rebelution’s first album Courage to Grow reached #4 on the Billboard Reggae Chart. Their third album or 2012 release, Peace of Mind, hit #1 on both the Reggae and Independent Charts and was the #4 iTunes album overall. Their 2014 fourth full release, Count Me In entered the Reggae Chart at #1 and the Billboard Overall Chart at #14. Their fifth album is 2016’s Grammy-nominated, Falling Into Place. Free Rein, their sixth studio album, debuted at #5 on iTunes Top 100 albums chart and took the #1 spot on Billboard’s Reggae chart. The band has 235 million+ streams under their belt only from their Top 10 Spotify tracks.
Aside from the music, Rebelution has ventured into other entrepreneurial avenues, like the marijuana and alcohol industry. They have created batteries, vapes and oils which are currently available for purchase in dispensaries around Colorado, California and Washington. They also have their own Californian beer in collaboration with Lost Abbey & The Hop Concept named, Take on anything IPA.
Due to Covid-19 the band asks for its audience to lend a helping hand. One of the things that they did to help their audience was they offered to send old band tee shirts so people could refashion them as masks for those who are in need. Rebelution has also decided to postpone their summer tour until next year starting on august 5 in California and ending on October 3 in South Carolina. The tour covers 20 dates across the United States and another 16 are soon to be rescheduled. The Pre-Order for Rebelution’s Dub Collection is available on all DSP’s.
