Say hello to glimmers‘ new single, “Not Good At Goodbyes”. In addition to the brilliant new track, the band has announced the release of their EP Worlds Apart, arriving April 23, 2021.
Worlds Apart will be out via Common Ground Collective in the Springtime. Additionally, a video series featuring the EP will be released. The band issued the first video today and fans can expect more to come from the series. glimmers focuses the storyline of the videos on the highs and lows of a couple’s relationship.
Vocalist Maggie Schneider shares, “This EP means a lot to all of us because it represents two years of hard work. It is a concept record, from the very first song to the last. Each of the five songs follows the progression of a relationship, as well as the stages of heartbreak: love, loss, denial, bargaining, hope, and acceptance. Will our characters get back together? Or will they remain worlds apart? It’s up to you to decide.”
“Not Good at Goodbyes” features Nick Pena of lostbody. Rightfully so, the track makes listeners feel nostalgic. With an acoustic opening and emotional duet from Pena and Schneider, listeners will hear the dramatics of the storyline and encapsulates the feeling of being the main character in a coming of age movie. Pena’s part in the song amplifies the duality of being in a relationship on the brink of collapse. The band shares “Our videographer and great friend Deanna Elise brought these songs to life, and created the story with Maggie. Altogether, all five music videos create a short film, inspired by our favorite 90s and 2000s romance movies.”
“‘Not Good at Goodbyes’ is a confession of love – it’s about my difficulty letting go of people, and saying goodbye to relationships. It hurts when the person you love leaves, whether it’s temporary or forever. This is the last-ditch effort to say everything you want to say, before it’s too late. I really hope listeners feel a special connection to this one,” says Schneider about the single. “‘We focused on filming memories made in cars because that’s where I’ve shared some of my favorite moments.”
The Atlanta-based rock band formed in early 2020. The 5-piece played music together since the summer of 2019, and the members met separately but all through mutual friends. glimmers formed as the backing band of Atlanta artist Maggie Schneider – but what started as a backing band quickly became a family. glimmers cites their influences in the melodic sounds of Mayday Parade, the personal lyrics of All Time Low and the songwriting of Julia Michaels. Their debut EP Cluttered Heart introduced their standout singles like “Don’t Tell Me” and “For Me It’s You”. After just 5 months of being a band, Cluttered Hearts reached 95,000 total streams. The EP even caught the attention of outlets like Substream Magazine, idobi Radio, and Hot Topic.
Stay tuned for the release of Worlds Apart, arriving this Spring on April 23, 2021.
