Today, Nashville singer-songwriter Hailey Whitters revealed to Rolling Stone that she finalized a deal with the city’s first female-driven label: Big Loud Records / Songs & Daughters. The label was originally formed by 2019’s BMI Songwriter of the Year, Nicolle Galyon.
Whitters’ new album, The Dream, was initially self-released through her label Pigasus Records. Now, the acclaimed album will continue marketing and promotion through Big Loud Records as well.
“I’m proud to partner with Big Loud Records / Songs & Daughters, and to be represented by a label that is building artist’s careers in innovative ways that are unrestrained by industry standards and norms,” explained Whitters.
The Dream released high praise among its initial release, between The Washington Post calling it “the year’s deepest country album” and American Songwriter giving it 4.5 stars.
Hailey Whitters has also garnered accolades for her songwriting in places like CMT, Pandora, and SPIN. Prior to partnering with Songs & Daughters in 2019, Big Loud Records has been the home to various rising country performers, including Jake Owen and MacKenzie Porter.
“Entering our fifth year as a record company, we knew it was time to evolve Big Loud’s roster in creative directions we haven’t been before. Today’s announcement marks a big step in that. We have been so drawn to what Hailey and team have been building, and the incredible music they make. Hailey is the quintessential Nashville success story and we couldn’t be more proud to be a part of her future,” shared Seth England, the Partner/CEO of Big Loud.
With such a large deal based in Nashville and the country music scene, it will be interesting to see how far up Hailey Whitters will go from here.
