Record label, Kitten Robot proves to be the new hotbed of musical talent coming out of the West Coast. The label welcomes the vivacious punk band, Haley and the Crushers to their roster. The band is currently is in the recording process for their first 2021 release, with producer Paul Roessler.
Haley and the Crushers have not let the pandemic get in the way of new music, as the band prepares their first release under the new label — with help from producer Paul Roessler [T.S.O.L., Josie Cotton, Richie Ramone]. Though the band is not all together for recording at the labels famed Kitten Robot Studios, they are able to work remotely and still cook up quality recording material. Roessler shares, “They’ve sent me the tracks they recorded. They sound so good, it’s almost like they’re showing off. This is going to be easy.” The band prepares their third studio album to be released this year. It will follow up their last independent release of single, “Church of Flag,” which they shared in December 2020.
Kitten Robot Records is excited to have the band join the label family. Their roster includes Josie Cotton, the labels owner and curator. Additionally, critically-acclaimed artists with Kitten Robot include CrowJane, and darkwave electronic duo Dark Mark and Skeleton Joe [featuring Screaming Trees’ Mark Lanegan and The Icarus Line’s Joe Cardamone]. As well as psychedelic shoegaze legends Tombstones In Their Eye. Cotton shares, “Hayley and the Crushers is the naked embodiment of power pop punk which I’ve always loved… naturally, we hit it off immediately. This is a hard-working band who knows who they are and where they need to go.”
Haley and the Crushers are San Luis Obispo, California’s prized musicians. For fans of Beach Bunny, Bikini Kill, Diet Cig and similar eccentric femme punk group, Haley and the Crushers are for you. The pop-punk band adds a vintage surf rock flair to their style. “You know how after a really good party; you have to scrape up all the stuff at the bottom of the pool? That’s us: Poolside glitter trash,” laughs vocalist/guitarist Hayley Crusher Cain.
The band is comprised of Hayley Crusher Cain [vocals, guitar], Dr. Cain, ESQ [bass], and Action Ben Cabreana [drums]. The band offers bold, bad-gal fun over the years with projects like, EP Fun Sized [Rum Bar Records], “Jacaranda” [Surfin Ki/Reta Records]. And their most recent full-length Vintage Millennial [Eccentric Pop Records]. The group looks forward to sharing new music with Kitten Robot this year.
