Viral sensation, Ashnikko is back at it with her new single, “Daisy”. Fresh off the release of her single “Cry” featuring Grimes, which features both artists in a futuristic, post-apocalyptic animated world – “Daisy” keeps in line with Ashnikko’s double edge sword-like creative. With fans being attracted to her unique delivery – Ashnikko continues to raise the bar for herself. “Daisy” emulates the confidence it takes to be not only apart of the music industry but the hip hop world – especially as a female with an alternative style. “Fuck a princess, I’m a king/Bow down and kiss on my ring/It’s gonna hurt, it’ll sting” repeats in the pre-chorus calling out the obvious stereotype of being a woman in this industry – you’re supposed to look a certain way, act and perform how they say, but above all else, you can be successful so long as you stay in your lane.

Ashnikko continues to push those limits set in place by a heavily male-dominated world- “I’m crazy, but you like that, I bite back/Daisies on your nightstand, never forget…Glacial with the blue ice, I’m terrifying.” Ashnikko has made her ‘craziness’ just as much her signature as her current icy blue locks – with daisies assumably referring to the saying, “pushing daisies”, Ashnikko makes it clear that those who question her style and delivery will die on that hill of hate and doubt while she continues to overtake the genre – how terrifying for them.

The release day of “Daisy” was obviously joyous one with Ashnikko taking to Facebook to say, “’DAISY’! MY PRIDE AND JOY! THE SONG I’VE BEEN WAITING TO RELEASE FOR A WHOLE YEAR IS FINALLY OUT! BE NICE TO HER I LOVE HER SO MUCH! Made my sweet sweet Daisy with the legend @slinger_music! I swear to god we make some of the best stuff I’ve ever made together! I’M FUCKING BUZZING! BEING A BITCH IS MY KINK DUHHHHHHH.” The fact that Ashnikko has been sitting on this banger for a whole year shows the dedication and pride she takes in her work to make sure it’s release on her terms, the way she intends – “The constipation I’ve felt for the past year wanting to put out all the music I’m putting out now (and releasing in the very near future👀) is starting to ease. MAYBE I SHOULD CALL MY MIXTAPE ‘LAXATIVE’ CUZ THATS WHAT IT FEEL LIKE LOOOOOOOOL.”
