Sibling trio, Band of Silver, shares track, “Looking For A Friend” — inspired by experiences of their own.
“Looking For A Friend” opens with an intriguing and lush electronic key riff that quickly picks up the beat with the drums. It has a pop-rock vibe to it, especially heard in the vocal style. A subtle layer of electronic guitars and funky bass licks under the verses make the song stand out as a alternative pop track. “I’m looking for a friend, you can just pretend. It’s better than being alone,” sings frontwoman Avery Silvernagel. The track sounds similar to the works of bands like Tonight Alive and PVRIS.
“I thought of the topic while going to clubs around Nashville trying to meet new people. It was pretty nerve wracking at first. I thought I would be the outsider with everyone having their social circles already established and all around more put together than I was. Instead I realized most of the people I met felt the same way I did.” Says Avery. And it’s true, most certainly now with the pandemic making friends and family more distant for some. The band offers a hand to those who can relate and hope the track brings everyone comfort.
Hailing from Nashville, TN, Band of Silver kicked off 2021 strong with ““Looking for a Friend” being the follow up to their February single, “Are We Are We Not.” Both singles arrive at on heels of their debut EP Always, which dropped in December 2020. Collectively their discography showcases the musical maturity the trio has, containing songs of heartbreak and disappointment with hope and perseverance. Their music finds inspiration in vintage rock, 80’s new wave, and modern pop. Ultimately Band of Silver curate a sound to the likes of Sainte, Against the Current and Yours Truly. With two singles already paving the way, Band Of Silver have no plans of pumping the breaks for the rest of 2021.
