Award winning, Gen Z icon, beabadoobee has released the next single off her forthcoming album Beatopia, “10:36.” Her sophomore album — pronounce Bay-A-Toe-Pee-Uh — is due out July 15 via Dirty Hit. Fresh off her U.S. tour opening Halsey, beabadoobee continues to tease fans of her next creation.

Fitted with a retro, 90’s rock beat, “10:36” feels so different than the typical beabadoobee soothing lullaby vibes. However, beabadoobee’s signature cooing vocals dancing across the 3.15 minutes remind fans this is in fact a beabadoobee original. This single, of course, still shines bright with beabadoobee’s need to create vulnerable art. Written during the lockdown, “10:36” is named after the exact time this young artist finished the single.

Speaking on the single beabadoobee shares, “’10:36′ was written after Fake It Flowers and just before Our Extended Play, and I had envisioned it to be on that EP, but I was just sitting on that riff for ages and then I properly made a demo during lockdown. It was called ‘10:36’ because that was the time I finished writing it. It’s basically about how I have this weird dependency on human contact to sleep.” A dependency many can relate to, many of whom found out just how much during the difficult lockdown due to the pandemic.

“10:36” is the latest single to join beabadoobee’s string of releases ahead of Beatopia. The album will also feature previous singles, “Lovesong,” “Talk” and “See You Soon.” Beatopia aims to be some of beabadoobee’s most impressive work to date. Beatopia is the fantastical world created by the imagination of a 7-year-old beabadoobee — while impressive in nature, it offers fans a more personal look at one of their favorite artists. Beatopia is currently available for pre-order in the form of CDs, cassette tapes and vinyl records, but of course every beabadoobee fan can benefit from one of the many merch bundles also available. While “10:36” may feel on the opposite side of the spectrum than “Lovesong” or “See You Soon,” it fits nicely within the realm of beabadoobee. While Gen Z tends to fall in love with beabadoobee’s lustful vocals, Millennials will follow her as she revamps the classic vibes they fell in love with during the No Doubt era.

beabadoobee continues to impress as she grows her 4.6 billion streams numbers, becoming one of the most sought after names in music. With a string of music festivals already on the books for the remainder of 2022 and a limited UK headlining tour set to kick off this October, beabadoobee doesn’t show any signs of slowing down.
