Beabadoobee is all the buzz and rightfully so! The popular young artist has just released her latest single, “Worth It”, hot off her highly anticipated debut album Fake It Flowers, out October 16th via Dirty Hit. The dreamy pop-rock track is full of emotions. In her nostalgic way, she sings about the small sentiments and the mistakes that haunt us from past relationships. Bea explains that the song is at heart “simply about teenage infidelity, and the mistakes one can make when they’re tempted to do things. It’s a bit of a confession song but also an understanding that it’s a part of life.”
The single is the latest off her forthcoming album, following previous singles “Sorry”, a melancholy apology track, and “Care” – a cathartic anthem about rejecting sympathy from anyone who doesn’t take the time to get to know the real her. Her collection of songs so far has garnered praise from The New York Times, Cosmopolitan, Rolling Stone, NPR, Teen Vogue, Pitchfork, Wall Street Journal, The Fader, i-D, Uproxx, Consequence of Sound, Stereogum, Nylon, Complex, DuJour, and BBC Radio 1, who premiered “Care” on Hottest Record In The World by Annie Mac, which propelled the track to over three million streams.
Philippines born and London raised, Bea Kristi began recording music as beabadoobee, inspired by her Finsta handle, in 2017. Now, at just 20 years old, Bea already has a huge, loyal Gen-Z fan base, and a killer discography of confessional bedroom pop songs. Her stunning voice, intimate lyrics, and DIY aesthetic have made her one of music’s most exciting artists to watch. After her hit song “Coffee” went viral, she signed with Dirty Hit, and then went on to tour with fellow indie pop star Clairo. She received a billboard in Times Square as part of YouTube’s global artist program Foundry and received a nomination for the 2020 BRIT Rising Star Award and the BBC Sound of 2020. She also performed at the NME Awards and at The 1975’s O2 Arena shows.
Her mashup collaboration with Canadian artist, Powfu, “deathbed (coffee for your head),” went viral and became a TikTok smash-hit. The song climbed into the Top 20 chart in 27 countries, garnering Bea her first RIAA Platinum Certification, and became the sixth most-streamed song of the summer. This, along with her two most recent critically-lauded 2019 EPs, Space Cadet, and Loveworm, helped push her to over 900 million streams.
beabadoobee recently announced the Fake It Flowers headline tour for Fall 2021, with 14 dates across the UK and Ireland, including a hometown show at London’s O2 Forum Kentish Town. Presale tickets go on sale Today, and general on-sale begins Friday, September 11, 2020.
