Smallpools are back with a brand new single,
“cycle”. With a dynamic, groovy sound and intricate lyrics about the cynicism that comes hand and hand with heartbreak. The high-energy track smoothly combines their uplifting indie sound with their emotionally driven lyrics.
Speaking on the track, the band shares, “Life is full of beginnings and endings. We cope with the ‘endings’ and carry on until we are forced to accept pushing the reset button. ‘Cycle’ is a song about starting over, the inevitability of change, adaptation and the cycle of perpetual highs and lows.”
“Cycle” follows
“slowdown”, off the band’s upcoming sophomore LP, due out in early 2021.
Since the beginning, the band has delivered nonstop jams. After bursting onto the scene with the head turning
“Dreaming” – a now
RIAA Certified Gold track – it quickly became a fan favorite as it flew to the top of the
Hype Machine chart. The track’s success found the band with many exciting new opportunities, and quickly earned the band support from alternative radio stations across the country, and multiple late night television appearances. Eventually, they snagged a slot on the road as the opening act for
Twenty One Pilots,
Walk the Moon,
Grouplove and
Two Door Cinema Club on their national tours. Soon after,
Smallpools released their acclaimed debut album,
LOVETAP! and spent the better part of the next two years touring, selling out venues nationwide in support of its release.
On top of the exciting new song release and upcoming EP, Smallpools has announced their signing to ONErpm, a music solutions company which functions in the space between a traditional record label and a distribution company. Speaking on the new partnership, Smallpools shared, “With the ever-changing landscape of the way music is shared and consumed, we’re thrilled to be partnering with such an innovative company to release our long overdue second full length album.”
