Up and coming singer songwriter Devin Kennedy shares “Hurt U [Stripped].” This reimagination takes the lyrically sincere track and breaks it down to its core. Kennedy is excited to share another level of emotional depth he’s achieved with his songwriting.

The original “Hurt U” maintained subtle trap beats and lush guitars that are reminiscent of Austin Mahone’s music. Devin Kennedy writes of a past love that’s full of only good memories, a lyrically blissful track. The reimagination takes all the core elements of “Hurt U’s” emotions and transforms it to a raw and simple mix. Devin Kennedy’s voice takes the forefront with reverberating vocals that echo every feeling of vulnerability that he conveys. A subtle croon in the back adds a dissonance to the track, but the lack of drum beats amp up the honesty of the words, “Nothing I would ever do, to lose the way you trust me with your secrets. Pillow talking, I wanna stay like this, Nothing I would ever do to hurt you.” Kennedy trades the original harmonized outro, and instead gently closes it out solo.
