Florida natives, Fame On Fire recently released their newest single, “Not Dead Yet”, straight off of their forthcoming debut album Levels, out September 4th via Hopeless Records. “Not Dead Yet”  becomes the fourth to be welcomed off the album, joining previously released tracks, “Her Eyes”, “Headspace ft. Poorstacy  and “Down”. With intense and emotional lyrics, the song touches on the struggles that too many people face, including depression and addiction.

The visual video features a Donkey Kong inspired backdrop illuminated on an old school TV. Even though the visual plays on a loop, you get wrapped up in watching Player 1 fight his way to top, jumping over barrels and racing against the scrolling screen, rooting for him that he can eventually make it to the top. Yet each time he inevitably gets sucks in by quickening pace of the scroll, you get a slight wave of disappointment before filling with glee as our young hero falls from the sky to tackle on this mess of obstacles once more. While we never do get a final answer to what’s waiting for him at the top, “Not Dead Yet”  tackles the first step in many. When it comes to depression, it can feel like there’s a screen scrolling up on you and you can’t hop over the barrels fast enough. With a lack of power-ups in life, it can be draining to take it all head-on.

Speaking of their latest single, vocalist, Bryan Kuznitz tells, “’Not Dead Yet’ is about me waking up everyday and not wanting to do anything with my life. Feeling like I don’t belong in this world. Letting my depression get the best of me. I know this but I can’t always fight through it. Feeling the weight of myself. I don’t want to end my life because I have hope. I know my anxiety doesn’t define me. And I’m going to be okay. I just have to keep going.”

After starting in 2013 as a solo from the cover project, Fame On Fire grew into a true rock band – pushes the confines of rock, hip hop, and heavy music, creating a sound that is truly their own and defying genre norms. Through bold and honest lyrics, Fame On Fire brings an energetic yet emotional layer to their songs.  Their upcoming album, Levels, is about going through various stages, or levels, of life.  It talks about the good times and bad, the ups and downs that we all go through balanced with the desire to keep growing and move forward despite the things that hinder us. With Levels, Fame On Fire wants to show how important music is to the band and to their fans. Guitarist, Blake Saul says, Our band exists because all of us grew up together and we each found our own ways to music, which is living and breathing inside of us. Levels is currently available for pre-order [linked below] and order instantly unlocks a download of “Her Eyes,”  “Headspace ft. Poorstacy“Down” and “Not Dead Yet”.
