LISTEN: Loren Gray Shares New Single And Lyric Video For “ALONE”

Loren Gray Alone review

Rising pop artist and social media personality, Loren Gray, released “Alone” – the second from a series of songs she’s recorded at home during quarantine. In this new reality of necessary solitude, the song takes on a positive meaning for the word and talks about being alone with someone you love.  The love song was written by Gray, along with “Cake”  collaborators – The Wavys (who also produced the track), as well as Lilian Caputo and Elsa Curran.

“The world could be on fire wouldn’t notice / I’m too busy sinking in your eyes / Then seconds turn to hours and I can’t get enough / Whenever you’re here I lose track of time” – her words bring through raw emotion on what it feels like to fall so deeply for someone that nothing around you matters, the world fades to a distance as you sink further into your partner.  Paired with a new lyric video, created by Raja Dava, words cascade across the screen in a simple fluid motion creating a dream-like wonder in the movements.

Lorens style is energetic, edgy, and honest – aiming to create her own brand of pop music that is unapologetic and empowering. “‘Alone’ is the first love song I’ve ever written,”  says Gray. “I’m so happy it’s out in the world and I hope my fans aka my angels love ‘Alone’ as much as I do.”

The Philly native grew up playing piano and falling in love with every type of music, from classic rock and country to heavy metal and hip-hop. She relocated to Los Angeles to pursue a career in music at 15. After cutting six records as an independent artist, Loren landed a record deal with Virgin Records. In August 2018, she released “My Story,”  which debuted at #1 on the Spotify Global Viral Chart. With over 45 million followers on TikTok and almost 20 million on Instagram, Loren has a large, loyal following of ‘Angels’. On Spotify, she gains over 1.3 million monthly listeners. Loren has also gathered over 100 million cumulative global streams of her songs—all of this before she’s even turned 18!

“Alone”  is her most recent release, following her May release “Cake”. She recently told Forbes that she recorded her own vocals for the track at home during COVID-19. “Alone”  and “Cake”  follow Loren’s 2019 singles, “Options,”  “Lie Like That,”  and “Can’t Do It (feat. Saweetie)”. She was also featured on Lost Kings“Anti-Everything,”  as well as in the closing scene music videos for Taylor Swift’s “The Man”  and in Kim Petras’ celebrity-studded “Malibu”  [At Home Edition].

Her popularity and signature style has lead to several collaborations outside of music with the likes of  Betsy Johnson and Forever 21. “Alone”  will also be featured in Best Buy’s Back-to-School campaign for Lenovo Laptops in a “choose your own adventure”  digital video series.

Today, Loren will be a guest on the E! News Instagram Live series, HappE! Hour. Tune in to watch host Scott Tweedie’s Q&A with Loren as she answers questions from fans, talks more about her music, and what makes her happy.
