Rising pop artist and social media personality, Loren Gray, released “Alone” – the second from a series of songs she’s recorded at home during quarantine. In this new reality of necessary solitude, the song takes on a positive meaning for the word and talks about being alone with someone you love. The love song was written by Gray, along with “Cake” collaborators – The Wavys (who also produced the track), as well as Lilian Caputo and Elsa Curran.
“The world could be on fire wouldn’t notice / I’m too busy sinking in your eyes / Then seconds turn to hours and I can’t get enough / Whenever you’re here I lose track of time” – her words bring through raw emotion on what it feels like to fall so deeply for someone that nothing around you matters, the world fades to a distance as you sink further into your partner. Paired with a new lyric video, created by Raja Dava, words cascade across the screen in a simple fluid motion creating a dream-like wonder in the movements.
Loren’s style is energetic, edgy, and honest – aiming to create her own brand of pop music that is unapologetic and empowering. “‘Alone’ is the first love song I’ve ever written,” says Gray. “I’m so happy it’s out in the world and I hope my fans aka my angels love ‘Alone’ as much as I do.”
The Philly native grew up playing piano and falling in love with every type of music, from classic rock and country to heavy metal and hip-hop. Saweetie)”. She was also featured on Lost Kings’ “Anti-Everything,” as well as in the closing scene music videos for Taylor Swift’s “The Man” and in Kim Petras’ celebrity-studded “Malibu” [At Home Edition].
