Multi-platinum selling indie-rock band, Lovelytheband, unveiled a catchy, upbeat tuneIDWGTYP.” This is the band’s fourth release from their forthcoming album Conversations With Myself About You due out August 28. The funky, guitar-heavy track is driven with catchy drum beats is complimented by frontman, Mitchy Collins’, passionate, raspy vocals. When you told me you loved me I believed you / And now I’m feeling sorry for myself / This was all just feeding my ego / But I’m good, I don’t need no help / I’ll be good.”

The new single was given to fans around the world with no warning – “We couldn’t wait until Friday… ‘idwgtyp’ is available everywhere now xx was tweeted from the bands’ Twitter account at midnight on Thursday, July 2. The song contains wicked drum beats, a rapturous guitar solo, and electrified vocals, especially in the chorus: I don’t wanna go to your party anymore / I wasn’t invited, sure / I don’t wanna go to your party anymore / I don’t wanna go to your party anymore.” This is the latest song lifted from Conversations With Myself About You before its release, and fans are more excited now more than they were before.

Lovelytheband has been teasing fans with their new era. First by changing the color scheme on their social media, then creating a video that summarized their Finding It Hard To Smile era, to using the hashtag #cwmay to keep fans guessing. On January 31, the band released their first single off their new era Loneliness For Love,” a song written for their first album, but only just found its fit sound. In an interview at BUILD NYC on January 30, Collins explained the many versions that Loneliness For Love went through before drummer Sam Price put a sound to it igniting a spark in the band who then knew that that would be the sound. The track peaked at number 8 on the US alternative top 40 chart. Then in March, the band dropped Waste,” an 80s-inspired record with a LOT of groovy saxophone. Then on May 8, they released the heartfelt i should be happy.”

Lovelytheband’s frontman, Mitchy Collins, announced the formation of the band at the beginning of 2017, the release of their smash hit single Broken following shortly after. Starting as just a side project after his previous band Oh Honey (alongside bandmate Danni Bouchard aka Luxtides), took a hiatus, Collins’ world changed as the mental health anthem took off on the alternative charts, throwing him and his bandmates Jordan Greenwald (lead guitar) and Sam Price (drums), on the road for nearly two years. During this time, the band released an EP Everything I Could Never Say, and debut album Finding It Hard To Smile. Other singles from their previous projects include These Are My Friends, and Maybe I’m Afraid,” which promotes their coalition with the LGBTQ+ community in the official music video. The band was also featured on Dillion Francis’ song Change Your Mind,” which was released at the beginning of 2019.

The band will be dropping their sophomore album on August 28, after giving fans little warning before the actual album reveal, posting #cwmay to their socials, leaving fans guessing. Lovelytheband was forced to cancel their headlining 2020 Loneliness For Love tour due to the COVID-19 outbreak. More details can be found on their official website.
