Luna Aura Talking To Me lyric video

luna aura talking to meAlternative singer/songwriter, LUNA AURA, recently released another groundbreaking hit ahead of her new EP, THREE CHEERS FOR THE AMERICAN BEAUTY, due out October 2 of this year. “TALKING TO ME” joins her other previously released singles off the EP, HONEY, “ENGLISH BOYS” and “CRASH DIVE”.

Fueled by an intense bass line, “TALKING TO ME” keeps in line with LUNA’s empowering lyricism and strong underlining message. Speaking on the track LUNA shares, “’TALKING TO ME’ is about no longer accepting silence as a viable option. It’s about being pushed around and learning to push back despite the odds that are against you. I found my voice, my head, and my gut when I wrote this song. It’s a reminder of the moment I grew into myself and my power.”

THREE CHEERS FOR THE AMERICAN BEAUTY is a concept project that fully embodies the female identity and its relationship with American culture. For centuries women have been told to quiet down, look a certain way, to always ask permission, and quick frankly, we’re exhausted. LUNA defies the odds and blows up any boundaries set in place to keep a woman in the neat little box the world has created for them. With each song off the EP running alongside a short story that follows a new-age anti-hero and her independent journey into self-realization and rebellion, listeners engage on multiple levels to be exposed to the whole story. The lyric video for “TALKING TO ME” features the latest ‘American Beauty’, Holly – Captain of the cheer squad, VP of the student council, and a bloody good teacher’s pet. With blood spewed across her notebook, perhaps Ms. Holly is tired of being everyone’s good little ‘yes girl’.

Produced by JT Daly, this record draws on LUNA’s childhood influences of other powerhouse women like Garbage, Hole, and Gwen Stefani. LUNA AURA is unapologetically loud, vibrant, and strong. Determined to pave her own path, she sets a new standard for being a woman in music – one that lets others know that it’s more than ok to be the strongest voice in the room, it’s necessary.
