Madison Olds Best Part Of Me review
Words by: Amanda Marano

Canadian pop newcomer, Madison Olds has just shared her shimmering new single, Best Part of MeThe tantalizing pop anthem is a tale of self-love and learning to let go of the things and people that hold us back. Her message is a reminder to put ourselves and our own mental health first. With her impressive vocals paired with production by award-winning producer Ryan Worsley [Dear Rouge, Nuela Charles, Mathew V] at Echoplant Studios and mastering by Chris Gehringer [Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Drake] at Sterling Sound, the track is fun and breezy and radiates positivity.

I remember sitting in the studio, starting to write this song and had been tired of pretending to hide bad days. I think my exact words were, ‘It feels really good to just sit on the floor, cry and give into an anxiety attack.’ This song is meant to make the listeners feel reassured with taking a moment to just feel sad. You don’t always have to be happy or even okay all the time,  says Madison of the electro-pop track.

The track is the first single off of Madison’s upcoming sophomore EP, which will further showcase her immense talent and fun-loving vibe.  She released her debut album, Blue to the World, in 2018, which now has over 2 million streams.

Her hit single Moments in the Mountains,  which was written for Kamloops’ 2018 BC Winter Games, was featured on the soundtrack for the Fairmont Pacific Rim in Vancouver, BC. Another hit single, Thank You,  boosted Madison up the Hot AC Radio charts in Canada, placing her on the Top 10 of CBC Searchlight 2019. She also appeared in several international showcases with Music Matters in Singapore in fall 2019. Her success gained her supporting slots for major players like Willie Nelson, Kacey Musgraves, Neon Dreams, Scott Hellman, and more.

Madison hopes the lyrics and message of the track will resonate with those who are also struggling to cope with the current state of our society. I can only imagine the anxiety, depression and anger people are feeling right now and I think ‘Best Part of Me’ can help to reassure that while it feels like the world is burning or even ending, it’s okay to take a day, cry it out and then get back in the saddle and kick some ass the next day.

Her goal is for her music to empower people to feel comfortable with their discomfort.  She continues, My music comes from personal experience where I had to learn and grow on my own. My hope is that people can hear my story and relate to it by reflecting on the uniqueness, and their own story.  We look forward to Madison continuing to share her story while releasing even more music in 2020 and onward.
