Moldovan-American DJ Maksim “Max” Vangeli has been using the world as his stage for some time now. He is known for his captivating collaborations with other producers and his proficiency in composing an absolute cocktail of melodies, tech stylistics, and potent language. “Half A World Away”, released via the DJ’s own independent electronic label NoFace Records, marks Vangeli’s third project unveil of the year, and for this one, he enlisted the aid of Australian house producer, Ampium — who adds his signature progressive feel.

“Half A World Away” is a heartbreaking apologue of loving moving out of one’s heart from the narrative of a young man. Its soundscape is interweaved with a tender future bass drop, atmospheric production, and a shy dose of delicate vocals; which calls for an exceptional slot on a summer’s playlist. Both producers complement each other sonically, with an additional layer of acoustic fretwork offering a taste of everything.

This newly released single chases Vangeli’s “Good Times Ahead” and “Nobody” by  SUBMERSIVE featuring Sarah De Wooten where Vangeli had the pleasure of remixing.

Vangeli has collaborated with AN21, Andrew Rayel, Timmy Trumpet, and a multitude of other electronic legends. He also has produced a plethora of remixes for powerhouses Ellie Goulding, Swedish House Mafia, Pendulum, and Tiësto. When not concocting cutting-edge compositions, the currently stationed San Francisco-based artist runs NoFace Records and NoFace A&R, and NoFace Academy. The latter two provide a creative and safe space for the next generation of electronic music producers to learn music production from industry professionals. NoFace Records includes releases from Madhex, Greyloud, Modica, East Dawn, PASC, Van Snyder, and more.

Ampium’s debut single “Open Their Eyes” emerged just last year with Dublin producer ZHIKO. This track has amassed over 75k streams on Spotify. Since his debut, the cutting producer has worked with Grammy Award-winning singer Sam Martin, Sherman De Vires, and more. He will be gracing a number of festival stages in 2021.
