Mikey Ferrari is bursting onto the scene with his two break out singles — “moving slow” and “lunar light”. Originally released this past August, Mikey’s debut track, “moving slow”, showcased his impressive vocal abilities and R&B inspired roots. Earlier this month, his most recent single, “lunar light”, exposes a tender side of Mikey and is all about how hard it can be to fix a damaged relationship. Where “moving slow” entered as an embodiment of the underdog, “lunar light” showcases raw emotions when dealing with relationships. Displaying two sides of the same coin, the tracks give fans and critics alike a taste of what to expect from his forthcoming EP SPACEBOY. 

Fans of Kid Cudi, Billie Eilish, and BOBI ANDONOV will instantly fall in love with “moving slow”’s dark, hypnotic, intense production and powerful lyrics. Ferrari challenges his audience and subject in the track with defining lyrics, “I’m the future, you’re no one… I’m the future, you’re the one looking back”. His captivating boldness paired with a rich production will have you blasting “moving slow” until your speakers pop. As if his debut single couldn’t get any better — Mikey released a completely stripped back, live rendition of the track on his YouTube channel last month. Both versions deliver the necessary boast you’ll need to get through your day — almost guaranteeing to crush it with “moving slow” as your background anthem.

Highlighting his softer side with “lunar light” — the single was developed with the help of his best friend [and co-writer], Tony Davia [Younger Hunger]. Displaying his talent and versatility as not only an artist but as a songwriter, producer and overall creator — “lunar light” proves to be so much more complex than just intense synths and hip-hop beats. Adapting to a softer guitar sound to beautifully express his vulnerability — the track makes a perfect addition to your ‘sad grey days’ playlists that crave deep feelings. When asked about the motivation behind “lunar light”, Mikey shared, “At the time, I was making a lot of mistakes and just expecting people to forgive me. The song is about being willing to go to any lengths to fix what I had done.”

Both tracks are perfect examples of Ferrari’s dedication to his craft and his incredible attention to detail when it comes to music production. “It takes time to fall in love with whatever it is you love doing,” he said when asked about the motivation behind his music. He uses music as a way to channel his anxiety and depression – using this outlet allows his voice to soar through “moving slow” and “lunar light” with an added intensity and clear vocal prowess.
