Vibrant pop-quartet SZNS have just released their newest single “Behave”. With their debut single dropping in 2020, SZNS has quickly made a name for themselves and their 90’s pop vibe. They successfully emulate the style and power of 90’s girl groups with a Latin, EDM twist.

“Behave” is an upbeat dance track with Latin undertones. Each of the four have unique yet equally powerful vocals that blend together beautifully. Their lyrics have a strong message that is enhanced by the hard-hitting Latin-inspired beat. The chorus — “Wish I was sorry/But I never learned how to behave” — is infectious and bound to hook listeners immediately. It’s the kind of track that would make any girl want to get up, dance, and celebrate themselves.

Like their previous tracks, “Behave” sends a message of empowerment and a resistance to societal pressure. About the track, the band said, “‘Behave’ is for every girl who’s been told to act like a lady: to sit up straight, be polite, to let the grown ups talk. Our entire lives we’ve been told that we’re ‘doing too much’ or acting ‘too intense’ — ‘Behave’ is about being unapologetic, and taking up the space you deserve, despite what anyone else might say. If being demure and soft-spoken is good behavior, then I guess we never learned how to behave.”

“Behave” is only a taste of what’s to come from SZNS. The band has teased a series of four EPs- each inspired by the four seasons. However, they intend to keep the same vulnerability, wit, and power throughout these four upcoming releases. Their vulnerability and power comes from a place of truth- and their collaborative writing style. Kitchen heart-to-hearts about the societal pressures that all four women have experienced serves as the foundation for their empowering tracks. It’s incredibly powerful to see this kind of unapologetic artistry and it’s safe to say we are eagerly awaiting the rest of what SZNS has in store.
