LA duo Tempoh Slow hit the ground running with their latest single, “Leave Me Alone.” The song kicks off with an electric guitar, leaving the listener eager to see what comes next. Reminiscent of the likes of YUNGBLUD, the track pulls in elements of everything from punk to rap. With so many genres blending together, “Leave Me Alone” is an electrifying listen.

The visuals open with vocalists Nicholas Suhr and Nick Spreigi in front of the camera, draped in cool lighting with their faces censored. The video weaves in between the duo performing the song with a microphone and guitar and the duo, still censored, walking as they sing to the camera. The visuals convey the haunting, empty feeling that listening to “Leave Me Alone” leaves one with.

The duo, made up of Suhr and Spreigl, started Tempoh Slow back in August of 2020 as an anchor point in an otherwise uncertain year. With gut wrenching lyrics like “I lost my mind thinking that you were ever mine” combined with the band’s gritty blend of genres, they have rightfully been dubbed as a bouquet of flowers wrapped in a star studded belt.

In addition to the release of “Leave Me Alone,” the band announced their second EP, Punxx Noir.  s the first single off the new EP, the song leaves fans with a taste of what’s to come. Suhr and Spreigi spoke on the inspiration for the EP, saying, “I think this EP goes to so many places sonically and lyrically, but the whole thing is pretty much a back-and-forth internal dialogue. I went through a gnarly time with anxiety and depression, and these songs were originally sad little poems or lines I would write, but the brightness and power of the music brings it to a place where anyone can hear them and just think they are love songs. Maybe they are! Maybe they aren’t.

Punxx Noir, which is set to drop March 25, 2022, marks Tempoh Slow’s first release since their self-titled EP that came out earlier this year. Their most listened to track from the EP, “ASK Tempoh” gained a whopping 47,403 listens on Spotify. The song features a combination of genres, most notably the influence of trap on the song. The blend of genres combines with eerie, distorted vocals, making the song a memorable listen.

Tempoh Slow’s genre bending sound keeps listeners hooked. If the release of “Leave Me Alone” is anything to go by, you’ll want to keep your eyes peeled for Punxx Noir. Until then, we won’t blame you for looping their discography.
