goldfinger wallflowerGoldfinger is back with a brand new track.  The track was written by frontman John Feldmann about his wife. “Wallflower” brings love-filled lyrics with the spirited energy that the ska punk band has been known for since forming back in 1994. Inspired by The Perks of Being a Wallflower, the fun-filled track brings all the energy and nostalgia that we need to brighten our days.  The track only adds to fan’s excitement, following their ‘Quarantine Videos’ where Goldfinger reconnected with loving and loyal fans throughout the year.

“This song is written for my wife who is truly everything to me,” shares Feldmann on the personal track. “Until she found her place in LA, she was a bit of a wallflower, but she was always with me. I also have an emotional attachment to the film ‘Perks of Being A Wallflower’, so combining that art with our classic Space Girl imagery seemed like it tied it all together.”

The exciting release is more than just a return to the studio – “Wallflower” also marks the official return of original guitarist Charlie Paulson to the band. Joining Feldmann, Mike Herrera and Philip Sneed, Charlie’s return to Goldfinger makes for an exciting look ahead as the band is gearing up to release even more music soon through Big Noise.

“‘Wallflower’ was the last song I wrote for our upcoming album,” Feldmann shares of the band’s upcoming release. “It’s coming out later this year on my own label [Big Noise] and that just is a very full circle moment that I am so proud of.”

Since forming in 1994, Goldfinger has since been regarded as one of the most essential contributors to the revitalization of ska music’s popularity in the mid-1990s, before going further and leading the charge on the 2000’s pop-punk movement. Beyond the scope of their music, Goldfinger has always been active and outspoken members of their community, consistently advocating for a variety of political and social issues, especially animal rights.
