Bloody Cabaret is a rock supergroup composed of Quinn Allman, formerly a member of the legendary rock outfit The Used, Megan Joy of VadaWave, and Kagan Breitenbach. The group are fresh off the release of their debut eponymous album that blends elements of rock, folk, and classical music to form a uniquely cinematic sound. Their songs tackle themes of heartbreak, death, and love supported by impressive vocals from all three band members and gorgeously conducted orchestral backings. In total, the group worked with over 60 artists of diverse backgrounds and instruments. From Grammy-nominated trumpeter Matt Appleton to the renowned Moscow Bow Tie Orchestra, there was no shortage of talent in the creation of this magnum opus.
“This project started with a shared love of Horror and expressing heart break. It was originally created as a live concert experience but found itself transforming into a recorded album as the world fell apart and shut down. These songs are our deepest expressions of death and life through loss and love,” shares Bloody Cabaret. “We hope to invoke raw emotion in people, perhaps leading to a release and healing in a tender heart and soul. May we all overcome our sorrows through shared emotional expression, understanding and love.”
Bloody Cabaret made their debut with their epic, theatrical visual album experience. Streamed on YouTube at the end of March, the video was filmed over the span across the globe. It’s an incredible feat to watch, and was entirely self-funded by the band. The video format allowed the band to really tap into the storytelling aspect of the album and create visuals for each track off the LP.
The diverse trio that comprises Bloody Cabaret are a group of three incredibly successful musicians from various walks of life and genres. Kagan Breitenbach is a classically trained composer and orchestrator whose work has been featured in arts festivals such as Sundance and South By Southwest. Megan Joy is an American Idol finalist who later became the frontwoman for VadaWave along with releasing two solo albums. And thirdly, Quinn Allman is the co-founder of the legendary emo-rock band The Used. Their prestige combined with their incredible talent makes them one of the hardest-hitting and most impressive outfits to join the scene in 2021. Stay tuned for more from Bloody Cabaret!
