Good Terms is an emo-rock band based in Los Angeles and is comprised of Brian McShea, Zach Boucher, Ivan Barry, and Geo Botelho.  All four band members worked in the music industry for many years behind-the-scenes and were united by their desire to break free from the business side of music and begin making tracks on their own.  Their first album, Turning Point, was released on April 9th and featured incredible bops such as “More Than I Deserve” and “Pedestal.”  The album grapples with similar frustrations that brought the band together, like growing up and finding that adult life is less desirable than expected.  Many tracks off the album confront this disillusioning along with staleness in personal relationships and a push to reinvent in search of a happier life.  Good Terms hopes that the album will inspire others to follow in their footsteps and shake up their lives in search of their true passions.

“Creating this album and starting this band together is our Turning Point,” Zach said of the group. “It’s about Ivan escaping his life of complacency in rural Virginia and finally moving to LA, it’s about me quitting my safe desk job and creating music for a living, it’s the Turning Point that’s allowing all of us to put aside our fears and start a new life and journey together.”  This relatable message shows how the process of growing up is never finished.  The band serves as an inspiration to many to follow their dreams and to not be afraid of doing what makes one happy.

Good Terms writes, records, and produces their music on their own.  Zach produced the entire album in his bedroom studio, and this process allows the band to be entirely in control of their sound and the direction of the music.  The band largely wrote the music for Turning Point during late night, weekday sessions and over the weekends when they were free from their day jobs which gives the album the rawness of emotion that comes from late night thoughts and pure emotions.  Their videos highlight their bubbly personalities and the sense of humor contained within their music.  Good Terms are premiering their own acoustic livestreams on their YouTube channel.  Stay tuned for more from Good Terms!
