Massachusetts duo, Handsome Ghost, broke out onto the scene back in 2014. Captivating listeners with their debut single “Blood Stutter”. With the track racking up an incredible 20+ million cumulative streams – Handsome Ghost embarked on a clarifying journey as they introduced their 2015 EP, Steps.

Compiled of Tim Noyes [singer, songwriter] and Eddie Byun [multi-instrumentalist, producer], Handsome Ghost aims to interpret the past and the present from a place of peace while draped in a melody of nostalgia. Riding the success of their two EP’s and critically acclaimed debut full length album, Welcome Back, Handsome Ghost soon found themselves at a creative stalemate.

“It was a bit complicated,” admits Tim. “The new album was a completely different experience from Welcome Back. After our last tour, we felt like we were trying to make a statement, which went awry at some point. We spent six months on six ideas and then scrapped all of it.”

Eddie confesses, “we didn’t even know if we’d go on. We were initially trying so hard to take the sound of the last record and shift it in different ways…and it didn’t work. We got frustrated and it showed in the music.”

“This record is about that moment at dawn right as the sun is coming up, when you’re able to look at everything — good or bad — with a fresh perspective. It’s that moment before all the stresses of the day really hit that you’re able to look at things from a place of calm,” proclaims Tim. “To us, this record is about trying to harness that feeling.”

Handsome Ghost’s sophomore album, Some Still Morning, is set to be released September 18.
