JJ Wilde has been a force to be reckoned with ever since she hit the scene in 2018. She compiled and released her first EP, Wilde Eyes and Steady Hands, in just 8 days. In the year or so since its release, her career has skyrocketed. Her gritty vocals and rocker-chick persona is what gives her an edge. With her IDGAF attitude, she won’t let anyone stop her from making the music that she wants to make, and we’re happier for it.
Over the summer, she released her newest single “Best Boy” — which quickly become the new anthem for women’s empowerment. About the song, JJ said, “this song is about trying to change the narrative that society has accepted about women. It is clear, especially in the music industry that women are viewed more like objects a lot of the time than actual humans — seen not heard type of thing. Well, I want that to change – what women “should and shouldn’t do”, what society deems acceptable, what women are shamed for. All of the above. We are beautiful creatures. And I don’t think we should feel ashamed to express that.”
Following the success of “Best Boy,” she’s teasing a new release coming in the near future and we can’t wait. Her music is powerful and truthful, pair that with some insane vocals and you’ve got a recipe for success.
