LIVESTREAM: Joshua Burnside

Joshua Burnside Play Too Much livestream

Northern Irish folk singer-songwriter Joshua Burnside joins us for our next livestream Play Too Much @ SubCulture hosted by Brad Wagner! Catch the performance Tuesday, July 28 at 2:30pm ET / 7:30pm GMT on Facebook and YouTube Live!

Based in Belfast, Northern Ireland, Joshua Burnside draws inspiration from the beauty and ugliness of a torn society. Influenced by the likes of John Martyn and Nick Drake, Joshua mixes traditional European/ Irish folk with elements of Rock and Americana to fuel the deeply personal stories in his music.

“Inevitability. Mortality. The absurd, the wicked and the damned.”

Joshua Burnside has announced his highly anticipated new album Into The Depths Of Hell available September 4th. In addition to ‘Whiskey Whiskey’ and ‘The Only Thing I Fear’, Burnside just released his newest single off the album, “and you evade him/born in the blood”.  Unlike any of his preceding singles, ‘And You Evade Him…’ pushes limits with dark tones, dogmatic vocals and brooding, alternative drone sounds.

Burnside’s anxieties take in the economics of the apocalypse. The Almighty Banks of The West, built upon a culture of colonialism, bloodshed and classism, look on as the world spirals further into chaos – and as they reap the rewards, more continue to be Born In The Blood”
