Yesterday on Twitter at around noon, Kanye West posted a tweet announcing a new album entitled, GOD’S COUNTRY. The original tweet said, “KANYE WEST, ARTHUR JAFA, PROJECT 02, WASH US IN THE BLOOD, FROM THE FORTHCOMING ALBUM GOD’S COUNTRY, TODAY, STILL #WESTDAYEVER.” The tweet was a short 10-second clip of the instrumental promoting the song. West released a new song from the forthcoming album called, “WASH US IN THE BLOOD,” along with an official video. Arthur Jafa is behind the music video as a director for the single. The song includes Astroworld rapper, Travis Scott and the music video shows footage of pivotal moments from 2020 highlighting protests to Coronavirus footage. A thunderous bridge occurs after the chorus which Travis helps with doing ad-libs. “Holy Spirit, come down (Come take), Holy Spirit, come down (Come down), Holy Spirit, help now (Way down)” said West and Scott.
All of this is coming off of the heels of his latest string of tweets that were published on June 26. Other than this, West decided to collaborate with a store he extensively shared his experience in, Gap. Naming last Friday as the “WEST DAY EVER” because he, on top of the collaboration announcement, also released a new cartoon short with music and artistic collaborator, Kid Cudi and Takashi Murakami. As well as another restock of the popular high street-fashion shoe, the Yeezy.
