It’s been 10 years since rock band, Ludo, have worked on creating new music, much less released any. 2010’s Prepare the Preparations would the be the final record ever released from the underrated Ludo – that is, until now. Announcing their official return from hiatus back in 2018 with two shows [originally one show was scheduled but due to high demand, a second show was required] at The Pageant in St. Louis, MO, the rockers were shocked to see such an incredible turnout – tickets sold out almost immediately. The following year they made HalLUDOween happen yet again for an equally impressive turnout. By 2020 Ludo finally got in through their heads that fans have been dying for new music and entered the studio together back in July.
Now Ludo has announced some very special vinyl drops – their debut album self titled album and it’s follow up You’re Awful, I Love You are now available with each copy being signed by the band. Ludo released their official statement on their Facebook page saying, “If you follow us on Instagram you’ve seen pictures of us in the studio together a few weeks ago. When our Chicago shows were canceled, we took our stored up Ludo energy and decided to spend it in the studio writing and recording new music. We spent seven days together at Sawhorse Studios in St. Louis and it felt good. Like, really good. We started from scratch and came up with several songs and ideas that we’re really excited about. Nothing is finished and we don’t have any release plans right now. Our priority is to finish the music. If you’d like to help us do that…”
While the initial release caused the site to crash due to heavy traffic and an immediate sell-out of both types of vinyl – Ludo commented last night that “They’re restocking tomorrow. Apparently they didn’t put them all up on the site. Sorry!” – we forgive you Ludo. These types of vinyl definitely will not last long – so pick them up and support a great cause.
