Multitalented artist Ron Gallo announces his return to touring. The Live In “Real Life” tour kicks off in May 2021, preparing us for a Summer as refreshing as his newest LP. That’s right, Gallo released PEACEMEAL last month and now he is taking it on the road.
The Live In “Real Life” tour kicks off in Brooklyn, NYC at the Sultan Room Roof Top. Though the date has already sold out, you can catch Ron in Philly, Washington DC, Columbus Ohio or Nashville. The DC date will be an easy access livestream for those who can’t attend a date in person. To help keep capacity down and ensure everyone’s health and safety, New York, Columbus and Nashville will get two shows back to back. Ron Gallo’s wife Chiara D’Anzieri will be his opener, performing under her artist title, Chickpee. The creative duo is ready to share new music they’ve been working on during the hiatus of live performances.
Last month Ron Gallo shared his latest LP, PEACEMEAL. After taking a short hiatus in 2019, Gallo took the time to search for, and re-invent himself. Three weeks into his break in Italy, Visa issues took him back to Nashville where PEACEMEAL would officially come into fruition. The result is a hodge podge of genres mixed into tracks with no creative limits. A 12-track LP influenced by 90’s hip hop, R&B, sparkle-pop, jazz, punk and spoken word.
Gallo re-explores the infinite limits of music alongside producer Ben H. Allen [Gnarls Barkley, Animal Collective]. Gallo expands on any idea that came to mind during the isolated writing process. Ideas of warped modern love, the necessity of human connection, cancel culture and more are brought up in this record. Instead of changing the world with music, Gallo now focuses on embracing oneself and finding what makes people happy. There’s something for everyone on this record, as Gallo took something from every thought and genre that came to mind, cementing his own unique and complex soundscape.
Ron Gallo is consistently an artist, with an inconsistent sound, nor a title for his genre of works. He is from Philadelphia’s DIY music scene where he got experience touring, playing in different bands, starting joke projects, cleaning houses and filling hard drives full of songs of every genre. Gallo secured his solo music project saying “if I make music under my own name, the project can never break up, i can just die. It’s like a lifelong commitment to myself.” For those who enjoy Frank Ocean, Ty Segal, Tyler The Creator and Rex Orange County, Ron Gallo offers an array of songs among his discography following similar sounds. Gallo looks forward to taking the new record out on tour and sharing stories and feelings of his recent whereabouts.
