Brooklyn natives, Oh Honey, played a holiday show at The Studio at Webster Hall last Monday with their friends Weathers and The Mosers. This was an extra special night, as it was also Oh Honey’s guitarist/vocalist Mitchy Collins’s birthday. The show began with a powerful set from Weathers, a California-based band who seemed absolutely thrilled to be on the east coast and playing this intimate show in New York City.
They were followed by The Mosers, who played an exceptionally tight set with a few die-hard fans screaming lyrics back at them for virtually the entire time.
Oh Honey headlined the night with beautiful harmonies and back-and-forth banter with the audience that made for an atmosphere more fitting of a house show than a 400 person capacity venue. The entire night was filled with fun, holiday cheer, and even a surprise birthday cake and tequila shot for Mitchy right before Oh Honey’s encore. Everything felt right and I couldn’t think of a better way to end my year of photographing shows in 2015 than this.
