LIVESTREAM: HARLOE

HARLOE Crush On You livestream

Rising star and Grammy-nominated producer/songwriter HARLOE joins us next Tuesday, June 23 at 2:30 pm EDT for a livestream session – Play Too Much @ Subculture hosted by Brad Wagner.

HARLOE – producer/songwriter for the likes of Kelly Clarkson, Ella Mai, Madison Beer, and Charli XCX – recently released her debut EP Rivers Run Dry, out now via Roc Nation. Produced by Grammy-winning, multi-platinum record producer and songwriter Fred Ball (Rihanna, Eminem, Ariana Grande, Beyoncé & JAY-Z), the EP highlights HARLOE’s transformative path as it touches on themes of love, loss, reflection, and renewal following the end of a relationship. The EP features HARLOE’s previously released singles including the original version of “Crush On You,” “One More Chance,” and title track “Rivers Run Dry.”

The release follows her 2017 single “More Than Ever,” a stark and confessional heartbreak, and break-out single “All In My Feelings” which immediately hit #1 on Hype Machine, Top 5 on Spotify’s U.S. and Global Viral Charts. HARLOE recently wrote and sang on Robin Schulz’ All This Love,” which has garnered over 67 million streams, and earned a Grammy nomination for Ella Mai’s self-titled album of which she co-wrote “Run My Mouth” and Kelly Clarkson’s Meaning of Life of which she co-wrote and co-produced several songs.

Her latest releases include two of the five remix collaborations with producer Latroit — recently reimagining “Rivers Run Dry” and “Crush on You.” The “Rivers Run Dry” remix grazes through thoughtful chimes with electrifying synths and beats which gives fans a more uplifting version as the song explores the aftermath of a relationship. The “Crush On You” collab features Pretty Garter — inspired by the 80s dance era, covered with pulsating beats, bowed guitar, electrifying synths, and HARLOE’s glittering vocals.

Hearing how Latroit re-envisioned “Crush On You” with his remix made me literally dance and scream out loud from the first 10 seconds I heard it. Its groove, the feel, and the sounds that take me back to all the soundtracks I love listening to and he made such a gorgeous landscape for the song,” shared HARLOE.

I really feel a connection to the production and cultural DNA of HARLOE’s music. I had a track started with a new artist I’m working with named Pretty Garter. We had the music idea and this little repeating vocal melody, but not much else,” shares Latroit while discussing the process behind the remix. “I played the acapella for “Crush On You” and the two ideas seemed to go really naturally together so we mashed them up and the result feels organic to me. I’m really looking forward to working with HARLOE more in the future. What a talent.
